Wednesday 15th April: left Kingston yesterday and went to Ottowa. Interesting place, capital of Canada. Travelled along the Parkway from Kingston  To Brockville before turning back on to highway. This was such a lovely drive. Have some great photos just still haven't worked out how to upload the bloody things! The road followed the St Lawrence River. It is also called the Thousand Islands and I reckon there would be that many. There was also a couple of bridges that crossed into America but we didn't venture over them! Could see America most of the way. The river and Lakes are still full of ice and Elizabeth at Kingston told us the lake totally freezes over, amazing. We are still seeing some snow lying around but the days have been beautiful.
Ottowa was an interesting place, didn't really spend too long there as we were off to Montreal. Love Montreal! Such a diverse City, a real mixture of old and new. The Architecture is amazing, went into the Notre Dame Bascillica. Absolutely amazing. Lit a candle for Mum, Dad, Gary's Mum and Dad and Sam. The art work is gorgeous and the stained glass is unbelievable. Again if I could upload photos to show you I would! Will have to bore everyone senseless when we get back. We went up to Mont Royal this afternoon, a beautiful park at the top of the street where we are staying, great view of Montreal.
Off to Quebec in the morning. Most of the people that we have met have been very nice. We hope to head up past Quebec and follow the winee trail.

  1. WOW, the photos of the Falls are amazing...all that ice!!! You both look quite cold too! With all the bare trees it certainly looks like winter is hanging around. Love looking at all the photos, keep up the info, love reading it. Love Pam and Vernon
