Sunday May 3rd. Sadly left Whistler this morning, another beautiful day. Blue, blue sky and no clouds. Weather seems to be warming up a bit. Travelled to ferry to Vancouver Island. What a great trip, the islands were beautiful and the water looked so blue. Docked at Sidney and went down to the "beach" as they call it. Very nice little place. Had a bit of a look around and then set off for Victoria. The hotel we are staying in looks like a "gone with the Wind" building. Went for a walk along the harbour and then in to Chinatown for tea. We didn't get to Victoria until about 330pm so have decided to do the Butchant Gardens tomorrow before we take off for the North Coast. We haven't booked anywhere and are just going to hope for the best! Living dangerously! The area we are staying in Victoria is lovely. The legislative buildings are amazing, would never believe that we are on an island considering the size of the buildings! We have also decided to catch the ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe bay on Tuesday, just for a different trip back to Vancouver.

You certainly ordered the good weather for your trip. The hotel looks devine, hope the rooms lived up to the exterior. Have fun driving north, I'm sure you'll find somewhere to stay the night!!! If not you may have to cuddle up to a bear....if you can find one? Love Pam and Vernon
