Monday 4th May. Well hate to have to say it and make the most of it VERNON as it won't happen again, but I have to say that you were right! We went to the Butchant Gardens this morning and they were absolutely stunning. Never thought I would enjoy walking around gardens! We got there at 9am when they opened and left about 1030am. Lots of people turned up as we were leaving and not a lot there whilst we were there. We just loved them. Unfortunately the IPad wasn't charged enough so all photos are on my camera but the colours and the designs were just beautiful. Loved the serenity of the Japanese Garden section, lovely and peaceful. Went from there up to Nanaimo where we have decided to stay the night and catch the ferry back from tomorrow afternoon to Vancouver. When we first got here, thought hmmm may have made a mistake but booked into hotel on water front and went for a walk along the harbour and up into town. It is actually a pretty little town, although not really so little. Very spread out but the part we are staying in is really nice. Went for a walk up to these falls, Benson Creek Falls. We have renamed them the Lost Falls because we are buggered if we could find them! Met another couple on the track who was also confounded by where the falls were! Now need to contact the Information Centre to tell them they are not where she said they were! We walked up and down steep slopes, fell down in to a tree and provided Gary with vast amusement and disappointment he didn't have the video on, he actually hesitated for a few minutes debating whether to leave me half fallen down the slope whilst he got the camera out or to actually help me! Luckily he made the right choice and I am here to tell the tale - and we are still married! Found this old car in the forest, riddled with bullets! The car was rusted and obviously had been abandoned a long time ago. It looked to be from the 50's.

Good to see Gary saw some sense and rescued you when you struck a few difficulties, happy holidays!! Love Pam and Vernon
