Saturday 9th May. Sadly said goodbye to Canada this morning. We have loved every moment of our time here and are very sorry to leave. Went through customs at the border with hardly a hiccup, the guy did ask us if we had any groceries and Gary said no as I went to grab the bag with the muesli bars in. He then asked if we had any money on us. I said we have $300 American and he said what was I going to grab earlier when he asked about groceries. I said I was getting the money to show him and he said, no I asked about groceries and your husband said no, but you made a movement towards the back, why? Seriously I was shit scared, I said well we have some muesli bars but I'm not sure if they are considered to be groceries and he said, no do you have meat, vegetables stuff like that and  I said no, and he said okay off you go!  Thought we were nearly going to have an international incident , not sure if Gary was trying to get me arrested! On the way to Seattle, we decided to stop at a little place called Conway. It was quite unusual, bit redneck but it was great. We had panfried oysters and Coronas for lunch, delicious! Arrived in Seattle about 130pm, what a change from Canada. Traffic was horrendous and thought we were never going to get to the motel but we finally did. Took the car back, we did over 5,000kms in our 4 weeks. Gary did a fantastic job of driving and kept us safe the whole time. The car also never let us down. Walked from the rental place down to Pike Markets, what a place. So vibrant and busy! Found Ghost Alley where the walls are covered in chewing gum, weird! We had decided to head back to the Crab Pot for dinner, this restaurant featured on Man vs Food and Dan suggested we go. We were going to photograph ourselves there and tease Dan with it, but unfortunately Gary was feeling a bit crook so we have decided to go when we get back from the cruise. Off on the cruise tomorrow, we can book in at 2pm and ship leaves at 4pm. Looking forward to the cruise.

The pub at Conway, situated next to a Morman church, with " God Bless America" in the window. Knew we were definitely in the States!
