Tuesday 5th March. Happy birthday to Maureen Ryan for today in Australia, the 6th May. Hope you have a  great day! Stayed at Nanaimo last night and had a nice lazy start to our day. Decided to catch the 3pm ferry to Horseshoe Bay so headed off up to Parksville and Qualicom Beach, bit disappointing. Took the Oceanside Route and didn't see the ocean once. Decided to cut our losses and headed back to Nanaimo to the pub near the ferry terminal. Had lunch there yesterday and had these crumbed oysters, freshly picked that day, yummy! So had them again today and yes they were still delicious. Caught the ferry and had a lovely smooth trip back to Vancouver via Horseshoe Bay. Booked in to motel, had a quick nanny nap and then headed downtown for tea. There are so many homeless people here, reminded me of Hawaii! Off to Capiliano Suspension Bridge tomorrow, going to catch the free shuttle rather than take the car. Can see nightmares occurring tonight after looking at photos of the place, however I am determined to do it! There is a hospital,straight across the road from our hotel so can pop across there if need be!
