Thursday 7th May. When we arrived at our motel on Tuesday, I had a lovely surprise waiting for me. Dan, Delaney and the girls had sent me some beautiful flowers for Mothers Day. It made me very homesick, missing my family very much!
Went off to Stanley Park today, the place we are staying at gives you bikes for free, so Gary and I got up and were out by 8am this morning to cycle the Seawall. Vancouver definitely knows how to have a bike friendly town. It was just great, cycled for 6 hrs all around Stanley Park and then caught the Aquabus, with our bikes over to Granville Island, back again and then Back to the motel, another great, great day! I have had the following local delicacies since I got here:
. Poutine (didn't think much of) fries with cheese curd, and gravy.
. Beaver tail , yum yum yum. Had this in Banff and it is a pastry, deep fried with Apple topping.
. Bears claw, yummy. This was a sweet with chocalate, caramel stuck together with cashews in it to look like bear claws
. Bison burger, delicious
. Buffalo, venison and elk bolognaise at Lake Louise, yummy
Off to Grouse Mountain tomorrow.

Flowers from Dan, Delaney and girls
